Project Case — University Pedestrian Turnstile Gate
Release time:
2026-09-23
A university in Alor Setar secured five faculty entrances with BRX-TS900 turnstiles reading the student card already in use, giving the registrar per-student attendance data across 9,400 cardholders.
- Industry: University campus
- Country / Region: Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia
- Model: BRX-TS900 tripod turnstile + student card interface
- Commissioned: 2024
Challenge
Faculty blocks opened directly onto the street, so non-students could walk into laboratories and lecture halls, and the university had no way to evidence attendance or to report how many people were in a building during an evacuation drill.
Solution
Fifteen BRX-TS900 turnstiles were installed across five entrances, reading the existing contactless student and staff cards. Passage events feed the campus platform, which produces per-building occupancy and an attendance export for the registrar; a break-glass release and fire-alarm interface open every lane on evacuation.
Result
Uncontrolled entry into laboratory blocks stopped, the university can now produce per-building occupancy during drills, and about 9,400 cardholders pass the gate lines each teaching day with no queuing at class changeover.
